When wisdom is found
In the written word,
The treasure abounds,
It appears each time around.
When read by some
In years to come,
It may lift a load
Along someone’s road.
When hid in the old trunk,
Don’t think of it as junk.
When read, it is a precious thing.
Dormant seed awaits the spring.

The Vine
Grandma’s vine is still growing fine It is storing nutrients for another time.
There’s a sweet potato vine
It is in the window with sunshine.
Then comes warm summertime
To the garden, goes the vine.
A long time they have been around.
They put nutrients in the ground.
.
All season long its runners spread
Hiding nutrients beneath a vine covered bed.
Time to dig, and dry, and save
The blessing the good earth gave.
Store where it is warm and dry
As the winter days pass by.
Plant a few in the flower pots
Put in the windows sunny spot.
Give to a friend you know
They to, a vine may grow.
For it is written, you see.
Springtime and harvest will always be.

A Steady Climb
Thoughts bring words
Words move lives
Chart their pathway
Lest we fail
Lost on a wilderness trail
A purpose to find
Keep a guiding line
Nurture the journey
Loving heart and mind
Steady on the upward climb
Journey moves on its way
Not here long to stay
So little we can do
Ambassadors passing through
Believing into the eternal day

Garden of Prayer
Is there a thank you plant
In the garden of prayer?
A peace lily may grow there.
Difficulties? Cultivate with prayer.
Strength comes from somewhere.
Available to everyone, every where.
Share life’s words with care,
Seeds of value, thoughts to share.
Plant them humbly, here and there.

Blessings from Difficulty
Not feeling well is cause to seek the herb garden.
Let us meet the contents standing guard.
Some plants used for centuries gone by
Holding secrets that work is why.
Search for berries of reds and blues,
Deep rooted nuts are seeds to use.
Brilliant green leaves from the salad row
Is food for most things that grow.
There is food in the root, stem, leaf and bloom
To nurture life and make life bloom.
A little of this and a little of that
May supply nutrients that last.

The picture that hung on mothers wall
Held a lesson for us all.
A fat boy in bib overalls
Was gripping the handle of a shovel tall.
A red bandana was wiping his brow.
Digging fish worms is work any how.
Behind him a red tomato can,
It held the worms for fishing plans.
His pet white geese came along that day.
Finding the can of worms they planned to stay.
.
One had a worm in its beak.
Another was deciding which worm to eat.
A third goose was waiting in line
Knowing this day is going fine.
Mother used to say
Sometimes life goes that way.

Road to Reality
Knowledge applied helps keep alive.
Pull the load together and survive.
Keep our Makers word inside.
Best things in life are free.
Wisdom road is real
It leads from knowledge to reality.
Though humble, this life may be
Words of life are free.
Preserve them well
Their story to tell,
In daily life it is displayed.
Trust instruction the Maker gave.
Preserve His word for all time,
Daily walk the line.
Live life faithful, true, and brave.
His possession, He will save.

The old prospector works alone.
Seeks his find, makes it his own.
The book on the shelf lays silent alone
Until its words find a home Deeply planted, made our own.
Life’s road may change.
Graze a new pasture, new range.
In liberty, serve the one true God alone.
May His word find a new home?
Do not dare to walk alone.

Onward Go
A computer is setting there
It is waiting your words to share.
New thoughts cast new light
On this life’s struggle and fight.
Seek wisdom, speak wisely.
Results can be surprising.
Words are free, paper is cheap.
Know-how is needed by the heap.
Replenish daily, play fairly,
Walk humble, calmly, confidently.
Securely seek life complete.
Regardless of what we meet.

Found
In timeless words of poetry
Words in plain simplicity
Bring the plain and simple thoughts.
Things we were so often taught.
There is motivation
There is inspiration.
A moment for thought,
Lest knowledge be forgot.
Thoughts travel on
Like rhythm of song.
Keep a note book
For a later look.
Build enjoyment for tomorrow.
Life is more than sorrow.
God has plans for the day.
Trust His wisdom, and His way.
