Excerpt from "This Is Visual Poetry" Chapbook
These are sample pages from my chapbook published within Dan Waber’s “This Is Visual Poetry” Series. The Series aims to publish the largest catalogue of visual poetry in print, through the provision of affordable short run color printing. I conflated Cubist and Abstract Expressionist sensibilities in this ode to Jackson Pollock. On the publisher’s website, the work’s inception is discussed: “In 2005, I subjected myself to several bouts of binge drinking to achieve more authentic streams of consciousness. Fragments written during that time appear in these images, which cast the poetic line against the geometric. There are allusions to drip painting but made angular and planar. Boxed. Staggered. A flattened texture. Icy and thin.” This chapbook may be purchased at thisisvisualpoetry.com.
