We don't talk all that often anymore,
When we do I have nothing to say,
Rarely do I see you in person,
When I do we hug in an awkward way.
You try so much harder than I,
To rekindle this flickering flame,
That represent our dwindling friendship,
Despite your effort,It'll never be the same.
I feel guilty of course, but what can I do,
There's a force causing this drift,
We've both changed and grown too,
There's nothing left now but to accept it.

I am not sure of myself ,I fear,
I am easily convinced otherwise,
I am unsure of where to go from here,
He tells me I'm wrong as he sighs.
I am told I need to change,
It's my spirit they want to kill,
Society's trying to keep me in it's cage,
But I wan't to do things my way and I will.

I took a holiday to Brazil,
A holiday I won't forget,
I met a lot of interesting people,
Some,glad I did,some I regret.
I passed miles upon miles of shanty-towns,
A truly shocking sight,
This kind of harsh reality,
Gave me such a fright.
The sun was splitting rocks,
And dying the soil red,
The animals were parched,
And clearly underfed.
The local children were so poor,
It would make you want to cry,
Some of them so malnourished,
They might even die.
People complain about this recession,
To the polititions they're hateful,
But I've got a new perspective,
So I can only be grateful.
