Wild Flower

Deep into the green of the forest
I once took to safari
To discover the secrets of the wild.
Among the thickets and bushes
I saw a flower in blossom
Shining like in its first day of bloom.

That was one time my eyes fell on you
Among the myriad of men in the streets of my hometown
Like the flower that I saw
It was you shining among them
You comforted my heart
You made me come up to you.

That was then the day
Like a dove that had lost its partner
I came to you with a coo, you to woo.
How you made me discover my lyrics again
To you I sung
Song after song I spoke my heart to you.

Little did I know wild flower
It is in your nature to shine
To give aroma, and to give color.
Little did I know that your bloom is like the sands of the sea
For day after day I shovel for love
Never ending, never scarce.

Tempting you were wild flower
There in the wild I would never let you be.
With care and utmost love
I dug you up and planted you in the garden of my heart
Today there is where you shine and grow
There is where you belong and blossom.
