Otherworldly, tactile retraction
of rainbows,
from the eyes of believers.
Detachment of restless mind
at twilight, pot starts
boiling.
Sundowning, a paranoia
takes over, you suffer a childhood
near the pyre.
Thing is not a thing
exclusive of an extremist,
something burns inside me also.
The age of a tulip
moves backward; I, untethered,
float thoughtless in speech.

In my thoughts I see you
lying stretched out on our bed
with pyjamas clinging to you,
curtains drawn shut
and the big duvet is somewhat blue
and you are covered from your toes to your breast
when the sun goes dim
and inside are you and I.
Gert Strydom, 15 august 2013
There is a light in her eyes as they shine bright,
as in the twinkling yellow-green starry skies,
and in the night, dressed up she is a sight,
that draws admiring glances from men, women’s eyes;
as a royal princess as if it’s her right
she is treated but I know where her heart lies;
to meet her some men are in a kind of fright,
as no one her grace and loveliness denies.
Gert Strydom, 15 august 2013
She comes in loveliness and like the seasons
sometimes she is dressing pure and bright as spring,
her beauty has many different reasons,
continually tranquillity she does bring,
at times her gaze is quite hot or mild or cold
and she acts timid, lively and very bold
at times with a amazing kind of pure grace
but always I see traces of love on her face.
Gert Strydom, 15 august 2013
The first time that we met
I should have known
that you will bring more than just friendship to me;
in my blood
there was a tingling that suddenly did come,
a bright radiance
shone from your face with a kind of holiness
and eternally I could adore you.
Satish Verma, 15 august 2013
Sperms spilled on thighs
When moon was hung over trees
To engage reverberations,
Contesting erratic moods
Outside echoes
Stitching white milk into black tears,
It was not for the deliverance
From pain of separation
And drink the eyes:
The waves died in immensity
Somewhere a dolphin dips in mind
To pick up the music
Of fences, separating ethos
And gossips of terrified oceans
Searching the sunken ship.

It is as if God is present
where we stand at the pulpit,
Corinthians has got meaning
as a holy command,
as something far past human knowledge
that God commences with us
and our love comes to meaning,
becomes a kind of principle.
Gert Strydom, 14 august 2013
She has a kind of charm, a amazing grace,
as beautiful and tender hearted she is;
in the aspect, the expressions of her face.
No lovely other woman is just as this,
suddenly she makes my feelings and heart race
and her rose red lips sometimes demands a kiss
but to her there is nothing quite commonplace,
and to be with her is a kind of sheer bliss
Satish Verma, 14 august 2013
Basking in brothels of mighty corridors,
who was seeking an annulment
of lemon grass for enquiring into the
genesis of mutilation?
It was a terrifying situation for
a smell, drifting on the tarrif of
polity when fingers were busy
to dig in the flesh of victims.
Cleric wants to dictate the rhyme
of poetry distilled from anger.
Hundreds of thousands of monarchs were flying
in defence of dementia. The age was awry of death.
Close your eyes and listen to the sound
of melting. Somebody is drawing the green blood.
Dismembered, I swagger barefoot
on the steps of black clouds to take revenge.

Sometimes when the clouds draw tightly together
time slips past me
and you wander into my thoughts
and then I want to be with you
and cover your mouth with kisses
and then you are right against me
and I am on very deep ground
when we do discover something secret.
