Maybe we would have acted different
if we did know
quite how short our time together would be;
nothing could slow
the hands of destiny, the claims of death,
that made you go
to a place where cannot as yet follow,
as the greedy cold earth did you swallow.
Gert Strydom, 24 may 2013
Hand in hand we walked through the city;
the market-place
had small stalls that sold almost anything.
On your sweet face,
the joy of living of sheer happiness
had some great grace
but today only emptiness do remain
and your untimely leaving brought great pain.

Untie the knot, patriarch,
the broken kiss was
intimidating.
The backhoe picks up the
devil, it was within you
when you were casting stone
at the fear.
The pagan was covered
with leaves
raw and pailful;
belief in a thought
was not working,
think, man think.
The system,
the birth of rebirth of sorrow
was the tragedy.
The shaper,
I am, still wandering
to find the words.

God sent you to the carnival
Painted your face and changed your name
"Blank's gone away," they did proclaim
The other day you wondered, "who?"
You played; performed
Crowded thunder roars
Center stage, wearing the lion's mane
Alive, because God would not let you die
He need not tell you that
Yes, Yes
You would forget what you did that day
That day when you went to the carnival
And what you did
And what you said
Sick sights and thought-horrors
That you did witness
But it's just another day at the...

You won't be happy
Because you gave one word
Two meanings
One word, two meanings
Three perceptions
Converging
For the best
For the worst

Over a year make it more,
but how much more can you make it;
ten, twenty, fifty, or thirty,
tell me, tell me,
make me rich; filthy?
Can you not spend that two dollars for more
than one year;
seven, eight, nine, twenty, or ten;
how much, how much would it
be worth then?
Can two dollars be more than just two dollars,
Spend a twenty every:
second, minute, hour;
feel it, feel it,
feel that power?
Take two dollars, take two dollars
see how many followers,
fans, tributes, and buildings
you can buy if you
wait and sings.
Take two dollars, my two dollars
write the life I want to live;
today, today, yesterday, tomorrow;
let me no longer
drown in sorrow.
All it took was just two dollars.

Know that your brokenness can be healed
and that your wholeness can be restored.
Reaffirm your divine covenant today,
by completely trusting upon the Lord!
Seek a vital relationship with God now;
be thankful for His daily grace and mercy.
Realize and understand His intentions for you;
Open your eyes and observe what He sees…
regarding His plans, already laid out;
through prayer, request spiritual guidance.
Recognize your heavenly position this day;
know that you can overcome any circumstance.
Develop with Christ a genuine fellowship.
Remember! You’re still… called to worship!

One sure way to escape sin’s perdition
is to be not trapped by human tradition
that hinders the outpour of God’s spirit,
when searching for one’s heavenly lift.
For sheer knowledge of religious minds
can impede the heart flow of the Divine.
For the truest Love require action of us,
besides Faith’s development in Whom we trust.
A genuine journey of spiritual relationship
comes from Christ’s sacrifice and friendship,
when we completely accept Him for Who He is.
Everyone is surely blessed, when a child of His.
With the Lord’s Spirit, there is liberty!
Yet proper choices allow us to be truly free -
without the fears of life being jeopardized;
we just need to throw off… religious exercise.

I marvel at your love for God and truth,
your eyes that glow
with a kind of light that is pure and rare,
as if you know
things divine that are hidden to most men;
you do follow
the convictions of your heart with great care
with selfless love you lay reality bare.

A sheer loveliness was hers from her birth,
a kind of grace
that has been quite unknown for many years
was on her face,
some men became silent as she did pass,
some hearts did race
at her very sight, while she smiled bright,
was somewhat like a new pure kind of light.
The few words that she did choose had beauty
and her goodbyes
had promises of severe happiness;
pure as the skies,
her radiant smile was mine, I was lost in
her green-brown eyes;
she had changed all of my wanton ways,
with her laughing lingering loving days.
