The city skyline is burning
As fireworks light up your eyes
Open the bottle of wine
Lying in your lap
As we sit and wait

For the New Year
For a new life

"Yesterday brought so much sorrow"
As tears swell in your eyes
I slowly reach for your hand
And as the clock strikes 12
Our lips collide

For our first kiss
Of the New Year
Heaven is watching
Hearts are flaming

Slowly but surely
We're making this the best moment of our lives
Of our young lives

The night is dying
Morning is waking
A new beginning
Rises with the sun
