LADY IN WHITE
The trees were green and the sun was bright
She stood beside the river, her dress a flowing white.
The air around was calm and serene
How I wish you could have witnessed that scene.
Her hair were brown and eyes a dark blue
Those lips would have been so pretty to you.
I stood there,
admiring the frail figure
The wretched moment, when I heard the trigger
She fell to the ground
Her blood spilled all around
Strands of hair like snakes that slither
I stood there, eyeing hither-tither
But could not see the murderer
Suddenly, a noise escaped those pretty lips, just a quiver
She called me close and said –
Let go, for He for me has send.
I looked in those deer-like eyes
She let pain escape in a series of sighs
I knew not how to help her
Where to run for shelter?
She smiled at me, a one last smile
Her tenderness did relieve my rile
I knew now that I could not help her
The lady in white
Her eyes closed their shutter…
