Leaving Salzburg: Edelweiss
For what dreams doyou bring us,
With yourchampions pronounced in deeds,
And how many maids
wait with longings in between?
Bring us dreams of
golden tomorrows dear Edelweiss.
How many have
fallen for you high one?
Your royal stems,
petals so noble,
Above us you
flourish in wait,
For how do your
dreams bloom for such feats of valiance?
Tell me Edelweiss,
How many brave
lovers dare to touch your promise?
For who with a
bosom full of hope do you give
In dreams of
golden tomorrows, hopes so noble?
Oh Edelweiss leaveme my heart,
Your rich favor in
elevation of grace,
Ringing in my
dreams do you torment,
With promises
empty as the air you breathe

Vassals and fellows let us beware
I hear the endings call
The darkest of all now outreached
I trust it’s time to fall
Heart of light once so soothing
Now forever out of reach
We now join our brothers in the deep
To embark from the foreign beach
Funereal of delights, watch me surge
Fathomless and ever maddening
Of life behind we now purge
Take to the dark light of that final Thule
Glory bound, we journey now
To answer that far distant call
Time could not last, for grave and gasp
That final subtle pall

For what is it, a home?
A shelter of worth,
Some place of warmth?
Or a wayside, some void,
A shared break from the chain,
Binding us till the end.
Could home be at the bottom
Of a bottle of warm drink?
A dark tavern perhaps,
The dark alley in back
A distance from the pain that haunts,
Like ghosts waiting on the pass.
Would we do without it?
A thing called home.
To travel or carry on
Never stopping,
To be snared by some fate
Or held to one place.
Can home be warm arms,
Waiting to embrace to the door?
A kiss, words of comfort
The reward of some labor,
Absent of meaning,
Just two lovers being.

In blue I paint,
With hues of lust, slathered my liquid anger;
For in color tell of loss, dreams so unfulfilled,
What else do I have?
With red and warmth
To splatter and smother in tints of heat,
Feeling my brush, long and deft with curve and scrub;
Into the night I paint.
Forced be in yellow
Spread and dig so firm, so able;
Colors swirl and mix with speckles of flame,
In zeal do I express.
Fast motion do I create
Fury and rage with wrath I wield the brush.
All ardor and amour to bring my appetite to the edge,
In art I so ache.

The Cruel Tension
Two
rooms apart
Yet
no severance to quell
This
cruel tension of which we befell
As
the silence runs deep
No
calm between us will seep
I
go now off to sleep
While
you stay in the same dark for pain and weep
Sharp
on the edge my dreams do tell
Fleeting
of hearts as pride will swell
Peace
is all but fleeting
The
cruel tension soon will fade
With
touch and vigor where warmth is made
Down
clash the barrier once to pride
In
refreshment of love in which we now hide

Dragged over
the field went your man of such valor.
Unaided by
those above, left to the fury of that rage,
Of who took
down so many to find the heart of truth,
On that
foreign land so long ago.
For who wept
longer than you dear lady,
When the son
of Peleus took what was yours?
On that
foreign land, so long ago.
How do I
wipe your tears,
When so long
ago did your heart break?
To see him,
that one so noble,
Disfigured
behind that cruel chariot.
Who held you
close
On that
grievous day, so long ago?
Now a spoil
to the very madness,
That came
across the Aegean to your step.
Taking down
with swords to flesh.
The sharp
blades and the gore,
And what did
befall you?
So long ago.
For your loss
I do give this one gift
A secret
shrine deep within my mind,
Now on quiet
nights do I light the censor,
And remember
those tears on that tender cheek.
So long ago.

So tell me
now where did you go
That dark
night of sorrow and of plight
Your heart
for me you left behind
Passing with
harrow harsh pain
So deep
inside a cold blade does twist
Did my blood
cause your flight
Your heart
from me you took away
Departing in
haste, a hallow agony
We once were
one, far from all fear
Then walked
with cheer through trouble always near
My heart was
yours, you left anyway
Vanished in
heated hot blood boiling
But back you
came, together again
Two
travelers in a strange lit dream
Our hearts
no claim, one just the same
Embarked in
hope, hurling through some unrequited life
So tell me
now where did you go
That dark
night of sorrow and of plight
Your heart
for me you left behind
Passing with
